Ford Super Duty Phone Mount by Year (2017-2026): Three Kits, One Is Yours

Mountech dash mount phone holder kit for the 2023+ Ford Super Duty
Ford Super Duty The Super Duty borrowed the F-150 dash, got its own screen, then got its own dash. Your mount has to follow the same path.

Type f250 phone mount into a search bar and three different Mountech kits come back, and all three are right for somebody. Which one is right for you comes down to two questions: what year is the truck, and if it is a 2022, which screen is in it. Answer those and the rest is a bolt-in.

01 — Quick answer

Which Super Duty Phone Mount Fits Your Year?

02 — 2023-2026

The New Dash Gets Its Own Part

The 2023 Super Duty changed the interior, and the F-150 bracket does not fit it. So we built a Super Duty 2023+ kit around the new dash. One configuration, bolted in, ending in the 1" (25.4 mm) SpinLok ball that every Mountech arm clamps to. F-250, F-350 and F-450 share the dash, so a Ford F-250 phone mount and an F-350 phone mount are the same box here.

03 — 2022

Look at the Screen Before You Order

2022 is the one-year trap. Ford added the 12" SYNC 4 screen that year, standard on Lariat and above, while XL and XLT kept the smaller SYNC 3 screen. The dash around the big screen is different, so it gets a different kit.

12" screen, SYNC 4

The 2022 SYNC 4 kit, Standard or Pro. Built around that dash.

Smaller screen, SYNC 3

The F-150 2015-2020 kit, same as a 2017-2021 truck. The product title lists 2017-2022 for a reason.

04 — 2017-2021

The F-150 Kit

One kit is listed for both the 2017-2021 Super Duty and the 2015-2020 F-150. That means a 2019 F-250 phone mount is the same part as a 2018 F-150 phone mount, with the same Standard and Pro options. Pro adds a lower support plate for a stiffer mount, and on a truck that tows for a living we would check that box.

05 — Holder and arm

Holder and Arm for a Work Truck

Both heads fit every kit. For a truck that spends its days on a job site, we would run the spring-loaded cradle: it grips mechanically, it does not care what case you run, and it shrugs off a gravel road. The MagSafe-compatible holder is the one-handed option for a truck that mostly sees pavement, with wireless charging if you want it.

Keep the arm short. The 1.5" or 3" arm reaches a phone on any Super Duty dash, and length is leverage. Clip the cable to the arm so it stays off the screen and the buttons.

06 — Install

Step by Step

  1. Check the year. If it is a 2022, check the screen size.
  2. Order the kit from the table, Standard or Pro.
  3. Follow the BuiltRight written or video guide for that kit. Basic hand tools.
  4. Thread in the SpinLok ball, clamp the arm, clamp the holder, set the angle, tighten the knob.
  5. Route the cable with the clips. Check that the phone clears the vents and your sightline.

Super Duty Phone Mount FAQs

Which Super Duty phone mount fits my truck?

2023-2026 trucks use the Super Duty 2023+ kit. A 2022 with the 12" SYNC 4 screen uses the 2022 SYNC 4 kit. 2017-2021 trucks, and 2022 XL and XLT trucks with the smaller screen, use the F-150 2015-2020 kit.

Are the F-250, F-350 and F-450 mounts different?

No. They share the dash in a given year, so they share the kit.

Does the F-150 kit really fit a Super Duty?

For 2017-2021, and 2022 without SYNC 4, yes. It is listed for both trucks.

What about a 2016 or older Super Duty?

No kit is listed. The honest answer is the vacuum cup base with an arm and the holder of your choice; the arm and holder move to a direct-fit kit if you change trucks.

What is the best phone mount for an F-250?

The dash kit for your year with a 1.5" or 3" arm and the spring cradle. Bolted to the truck, low leverage, no magnet to argue with a heavy case.
